Featured Artist Janice Harris
Rendered in soft pastels, oils, acrylics, graphite and charcoal, Harris’ subjects range from traditional still lifes and landscapes to interpretive abstracts, but her specialty is pet portraits in dry media. A fine arts major at California State University, Bakersfield, she has recently studied with Albert Handel, Richard McKinley, Margot Schultzke, and Maggie Price.
The featured work, “Onions & Garlic,” is on display in a Craftsman-feel treatment featuring two warm mats and a solid-wood frame from our Palladio collection. This wide, square-faced frame in cocoa brown has the rugged elegance of Arts & Crafts interiors, which pairs well with the gorgeous root vegetables featured in Harris’ still life.
